About us
The Salvation Army’s Brass Band Stavanger was formed back in 1892 and is the longest-running orchestra in Stavanger. Today the band consists of 26 members, both young and old.
The band has through the last few years collaborated through seminars and concerts with several of the Salvation Army’s internationally leading soloists and conductors. Here are some of them: David Daws, Cristopher Deacon, Dudley Bright, Aaron Vanderweele, John Mott, Ray Bowes, Ronald Waiksnoris Richard Woodrow and Kevin Larsson.
The band has been touring in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Finland, Poland, Germany, Portugal, Spain and England. Our last major trip was to Spain in September 2014.
Under the direction of current band master Per Erik Petersen, the band has a standard that can be said to be against the best corps ever performed.
The band wishes through it’s music to convey the message of God’s salvation through The Lord Jesus Christ.
